Southwest Spirit Party | Las Vegas

Las Vegas with the girly friends always make for a great time. The Southwest Spirit Party was filled with about 10,000 people this year and since this was my first time attending…I thought it went pretty well. The entire Fremont Street Experience was blocked out for the special event and only those who had blue wristbands were privileged enough to enter the barricades.

Katy, Megan and I laid out by the pool, tried the oxygen bar, drank as much free beer as we could handle, picked out an old lady we wanted to grow up to be from the hall of fame wall in the Fremont casino, had late night hawaiian munchies, and then called it a night.

I played at the Blackjack table with Katy for the very first time. Tables make me nervous, but our table was extremely helpful and gave me confidence to perhaps play again the next time we’re in Vegas. We were also able to relax a bit at the pool, do a little shopping, and yummy eats. We ended our short getaway at Hash House a Go Go with Chicken and Bacon Waffles and a Smoked Salmon + Brie Scramble. It’s the same one in San Diego and we had all never been before so it was fun to try something new…delicious!

It feels kind of nice coming back to work on Friday because the weekend is practically here. The hubby will be studying all weekend for finals next week and I’ve got something fun planned for him right after he takes his last one. Hmm….what can it be?
